The Maine Guides Education Fund actively supports participation in many public policy discussions where decisions are being made about Maine's outdoor traditions. Some examples include:

  • Wildlife management working groups at the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife.

  • Landowner relations and management policies at the Sportsmen/Forest Landowners Alliance.

  • Land use policies of the Land Use Regulation Commission.

  • Public lands management advisory groups at the Bureau of Parks & Lands of the Maine Department of Conservation.

  • Rural economy and economic development initiatives of the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development.

  • Maine Tourism Commission nature based and rural tourism development.

  • Natural resource policy discussions of the Natural Resources network.

  • Annual Sportsman's Congress.

  • The Governor's Nature Tourism Initiative, Green Infrastructure Working Group, Task Forces on Public Lands and Traditional Uses of Public Lands.
